CANTON, N.Y. (WWTI) – St. Lawrence County Public Health Department observes National County Government Month in April and celebrates the vital role of county government in the community.
This year's tribute theme is "Forward Together," which emphasizes the pillars of county government: connecting, inspiring and leading towards solutions that build trust. St. Lawrence County is committed to creating a more vibrant and resilient county by fostering connections among residents, businesses, government agencies and community organizations.

St. Lawrence County Public Health Department has achieved significant milestones, in 2023, some accomplishments include:
- Nursing staff providing 484 COVID-19 vaccinations;
- Rabies Prevention Program organizing 22 free vaccine clinics throughout the county, where 1,783 shots were given to animals;
- Early Intervention Service Coordinators completing a total of 347 home visits and 862 phone meetings; and
- Staff involved with 45 community outreach events including presentations, wellness fairs and educational sessions.
